Protective Factors
Series 1 volume 1
Each
of the following families (in the following four articles) has allowed
us to share their journey, to hear of the risk factors that challenge
them, as well as the protective factors they build on as they try to
ensure a bright tomorrow for their children. Their stories are not unusual
- nor are they complete. As with each of us, they are learning as they
go, examining their own past, mustering the resources available to them
in the present, and looking to the future with a vision of what their
children can become. It's important for all families to know that they
are not in this alone, but are surrounded by others who understand that
an investment in the well-being of these children is an investment in
the future for all of us.
